20 Words of Wisdom [Quotes] by Charlie Chaplin

Sir Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin, (16 April 1889 – 25 December 1977) was an English comic actor, film director and composer best known for his work during the silent film era. Chaplin was one of the most creative and influential personalities of the silent-film era.

In 2008, Martin Sieff, in a review of the book Chaplin: A Life, wrote:

Chaplin was not just 'big', he was gigantic. In 1915, he burst onto a war-torn world bringing it the gift of comedy, laughter and relief while it was tearing itself apart through World War I. Over the next 25 years, through the Great Depression and the rise of Adolf Hitler, he stayed on the job ... It is doubtful any individual has ever given more entertainment, pleasure and relief to so many human beings when they needed it the most.

You need Power only when you want to do something harmful. Otherwise, Love is enough to get everything done.

Today on She Exists, we're sharing some lines from the great Charlie Chaplin. Hope you would love reading them.

A day without laughter is a day wasted.

Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot.

Nothing is permanent in this wicked world - not even our troubles.

Remember, you can always stoop and pick up nothing.

The saddest thing I can imagine is to get used to luxury.

To help a friend in need is easy, but to give him your time is not always opportune.

To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!

We might as well die as to go on living like this.

We think too much and feel too little.

What do you want a meaning for? Life is a desire, not a meaning.

A day without laughter is a day wasted.

Why should poetry have to make sense?

Words are cheap. The biggest thing you can say is 'elephant'.

A man's true character comes out when he's drunk.

A tramp, a gentleman, a poet, a dreamer, a lonely fellow, always hopeful of romance and adventure.

Actors search for rejection. If they don't get it they reject themselves.

All I need to make a comedy is a park, a policeman and a pretty girl.

I am at peace with God. My conflict is with Man.

In the end, everything is a gag.

Laughter is the tonic, the relief, the surcease for pain.

He influenced me a lot, he's the greatest inspiration for all. Do you feel the same? Share your ideas about this great man, this post and about She Exists.
